When I decided to live on my own this summer, the only thing I could think about was decorating the place. I couldn't wait to go to Bed Bath & Beyond! However, there was a slight problem. My creativity had been so flexible while I was decorating in my parents’ house, well because I was using their money. This time, I was on my own. BB&B is quite expensive I thought to myself. How could I have beautified my place with a limited amount of funds? I didn’t want to spend a fortune, especially because we are in recessionary times. Then one of my friends told me about IKEA. That Saturday, I drove an hour out of my way to see for myself why IKEA is considered the top dog of home necessities.
Entering IKEA was better than an orgasm for me! It was so overwhelmingly amazing! There were so many colors, patterns, and options for me to choose from at such reasonable prices. Not to mention, the Swedish meatballs were delicious. (I spent about three hours there that day)
As I am sitting in my beautifully decorated apartment writing this, I can't help but chuckle at how much I spent on all of this. I am living so luxuriously at such a bargain. Not only did IKEA cater to my spatial organization fetish [by having an abundance of pretty storage boxes] and love for colors, but it made the transition to living on my own a lot easier. To say the least, the discovery of IKEA has revolutionized the decorating part of my life.
